October Favorites 2016

Hey loves! With being a full time mama and full time banker, I am finally getting the swing of getting ready in the morning! I’m getting in the habit again of doing my makeup and loving it again! Because I’m back in the groove of things, I am back to having Favorites (YAY!). See what I have been loving this month!

  • Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done- this is like a great BB cream almost. It doesn’t have a ton of coverage which is okay by me. The days that I do want more coverage, I just put another layer on! This is super lightweight! It’s great for a day when you want a little coverage without the makeup look!
  • Maybelline Better Skin Powder- I was actually sent this from Influenster for free to review. When I first saw a powder foundation, I was bummed! Once I tried it though, I was in awe! It applies great with a sponge (I use a DRY Real Techniques) and it is amazing! On days I use a foundation, I take a fluffy brush and set everything with this! It makes my skin look flawless!
  • Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer- I’m not going to lie to you, I bought this just because Jaclyn Hill said she likes it. Wow! This is amazing for my pale girls! It is so natural looking and blends LIKE BUTTER! Plus, it smells like tanning lotion (hi summer, I miss you!)

These are my 3 stand out products right now! I know it’s not a lot, but everything else I have been transferring in and out of the bag! Let me know below what you have been loving!

Flawless VoxBox — October 18, 2016

Flawless VoxBox

Okay. This is yet another attempt at blogging. Seriously. Mamas that blog, work full time AND mommy are my heros! Since becoming a mommy, the Influenster app has been my vice. I have no regrets! I got an email the other day that I would be getting the Flawless VoxBox! I instantly peeked online to see what would be in it (please tell me I’m not the only one) and I instantly fell in love! To see some first impressions, read on!

**I was sent these products to review from Influenster. However, this doesn’t sway my opinion**

  • Harvest Snaps– This is what I peaked at and instantly was happy about! I LOVE these! I think they are absolutely the best snack ever! I like to keep a baggie of these in my handbag for a snack! Needless to say, it took everything I had to take a picture before I ripped them open to eat!
  • Dr Teals soak (relax and relief)- This is something I was really excited about also. I love epsome salts! It’s pretty rare I get to take a bath, so I really set time aside to enjoy a hot bath. This was one of the first times I have really felt at ease since having B. I will definitely purchase this when I run out!
  • Yogi Tea– I’m not a huge tea fan, I’m going to be honest. I tried the Honey and Lavender tea while taking a bath. While I didn’t like it hot, I did  enjoy it when it was cooler! I think if you are a tea drinker, you’ll really like this! It was mixed feelings in my glass though!

  • Ebates- Now, I haven’t used this. I’m still actually not super sure what ebates is (if you know, let me know in the comments below) I do think I remember seeing Sephora on it so I’ll have to check it out!
  • Kylie Nail Polish– I am actually oddly excited about this! While I am not a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, they make cute products! I am excited to use this polish! The color looks great!
  • Covergirl So Lashy- Ugh. I tried this today (I need to give it more than one shot I know) and I wasn’t impressed! It’s not super dark. I did curl my lashes first and then use it. I recall my first impression liking it! It gave my lashes a lot of volume. HOWEVER, I just checked out my lashes and they are stick straight now! Not used to that!
  • Simple Makeup Wipes– Wow! I didn’t think I would like these! They are great! I JUST tried this and they are awesome! They got all of my makeup off (WHICH NEVER HAPPENS) including my MASCARA!
  • Simple Miceller Water– I haven’t tried this yet to be honest! I have heard great things about Miceller Water and I am super excited to try it! If you have tried it, let me know in the comments!

Basically, I am LOVING this box! Wow! I don’t think I have ever had a box of this size and liked so many things! My favorites are definitely the Harvest Snaps and the Dr.Teals soak! If you have tried any of these or have suggestions let me know!

Covergirl Perfect Point Plus  — May 15, 2016

Covergirl Perfect Point Plus

Hi loves! I was recently sent the Covergirl Voxbox from Influenster (I was sent this for free but all opinions are my own) in the box, there was mascara (see previous post) and this eyeliner! I’m not much of a pencil eyeliner person but I thought why not try it! To see how I like it, read on!

  • Packaging: The packaging is really sleek. It’s very easy to hold while applying which is nice. I usually have a very hard time with pencil liner but this was a perfect fit. It has a self sharpener (hallelujah) and a smudger on the opposite side.
  • Color: I got the brown shade which was amazing! It makes my liner look so much better and a smidge more natural. It does come in 7 shades. Yes. You read that right! 7 SHADES! Hunter Green and Deep Burgandy are the two newest colors!
  • Formula: This formula is nice and creamy. It doesn’t stick when you are gliding it on and doesn’t tug!
  • Lasting power: The lasting power is not as insanely good as you would expect. I don’t mind that though. I use this just to touch on my lashes. I’m not sure if it is just because I had a light shade or not. With it being brown, I think it’s nice that it sort of fades. It does stay on all day though! Just not as dark when you first apply it!
  • Overall: Overall, I do like this liner! It is something I would repurchase in brown. I do want to try the Hunter green color too! It’s great for a day that you want a soft eyeliner look to just help bring out your lashes!
Covergirl Super Fibers Mascara — May 11, 2016

Covergirl Super Fibers Mascara

Hi Loves! I was recently sent the CoverGirl voxbox from Influenster! (I was sent this item for free BUT all opinions are my own!) I was super excited because this was my first box sent to me! It came with the mascara and an eyeliner (I will review the eyeliner separately) I have been using the mascara for about 2 weeks now! To see what I think about it, read on!

**Covergirl claims::: crafted with expert technology, ingredients and an easy, one step application. It adds 400% volume and length to lashes.**

  • Packaging: I like the packaging. I’m a sucker for Covergirl packaging. It’s bright blue with purple writing. It’s not bulky which is nice! It’s very easy to hold in your hand when applying your mascara.
  • Color: As most mascaras, I got black which is what I like. This mascara wasn’t extremely black though. I like my lashes to be as dark as my soul! Haha but really.
  • Brush: This is where the mascara starts it downfall unfortunately. I don’t like this wand. It’s oddly shaped and just doesn’t hook to my lashes. It doesn’t give me length or volume! In fact, the only way I can get anything is by using just the tip of the wand.
  • Formula: Being a girl, I’ve dealt with some pretty flakey things. I.e. Boys, girls, friends, people in general. One thing I refuse to deal with being flakey is my mascara. I felt pretty confident with my makeup my first day back to work. I wanted to look great because the last time anyone saw me, I was pregnant. 3 hours into my shift, I looked in the mirror and I thought my freckles had turned black. NOPE. It was just my mascara. Also, if you have ever been driving and had mascara flake into your eye. That sucks.
  • Lasting power: Now that I’ve horribly bashed this mascara, I do give it credit for the lasting power of the part that doesn’t flake off. As a mommy, I am completely guilty of going to bed without thoroughly wiping off my mascara. I showered the next morning and SCRUBBED my eyes and it still wasn’t completely off!
  • Overall: Overall, I am not a fan of this. It’s not something I would suggest to my girlfriends or for that matter, people I do care for. The only thing I really liked is the packaging. Maybe I’m being picky, but this doesn’t have my vote!

4.13.16 Things I’ve been loving lately — April 13, 2016

4.13.16 Things I’ve been loving lately

Hey ladies! I again have been very absent! 7 week old babies don’t sleep nearly as much as people claim! My little B prefers night sleep as to napping during the day! I haven’t really been wearing makeup but when I have been, it’s only a few items! Here’s what I HAVE been loving though!

  1. Urban Decay Naked Concealer: I have rarely been using foundation since B has been in this world. It’s far too time consuming and he has a radar in him that tells him when I’m trying to look good! He wakes up every time! Fortunately, since not wearing foundation, I can get away with just using concealer! This is great for those under eye circles that I now sport. ( not that often to be honest) I blend it out either with a sponge or with a brush!
  2. MUFE HD Powder: Another thing I have been using the heck out of! If you read my posts prior to being pregnant, you know I used to be an oil slick! Once I was pregnant, I ended up having very dry skin! Now that I am no longer pregnant, I am back to being oily! This has been a life saver! Even on days that I don’t wear any other makeup, I do put a pat of this on just so it’s not so disgusting!
  3. Nars Orgasm blush: I do try to use a blush on top of a powder. I am so beyond fair skinned that it is sometimes a must! It adds a little something back into my face so I can look like a normal human.
  4. Anastasia Brow Wiz: Let’s be real. For being Italian and having thick brows, they aren’t very structured. I use this anytime before I go out just so I have something together on my face. Doing your brows frames your face so much it is totally worth the 4 seconds it takes to do them!
Urban Decay Naked Skin  — February 18, 2016

Urban Decay Naked Skin

Hey everyone! I recently went to Sephora (shocker, I know.) and picked up the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I wanted to see how it worked in conjunction with the matching foundation! Naturally, it works amazingly! This is one of the best brand combos I’ve ever tried. Both the foundation and the concealer blend so well together and really make your skin look flawless!

  • $40 for 1 oz
  • 18 shades to choose from (you SHOULD be able to find a match!)
  • There is no fragrance, parabens, or sulfate
  • This has a PUMP! Hallelujah!

  • $28 for .16 oz
  • 8 shades (quite a few less from the foundation which is a bummer but I was still able to find something that works for me)
  • Again, this is made with no parabens
  • The applicator is really nice and soft so it doesn’t pull or tug at your under eye area (wooo! Fewer wrinkles!)
